World War and Cold War

Binoculars

HISTORY, AESTHETICS, FUNCTION

These rare WWI, WWII and Cold War binoculars, have been engineered and refurbished to a quality unrivalled. The majority were designed  during World War II and then enhanced during the 1950's and 1960's.

Used by the Army and the Navy, they were often the first line of defence in spotting the enemy as radar systems were not widely in use during WWII. These Binoculars were particularly crucial surface to air missile defence systems.

Manufacturers during this era spent an enormous amount of time and energy perfecting and fine tuning the bi-optics to get an edge over the enemy. Today, these Binoculars are stripped, dis-assembled, chemically treated, sand-blasted, re-assembled, polished and tripod mounted to result in the timeless masterpieces you see today.

People have tried to replicate the original specifications and sophisticated restoration process, but have failed miserably. The precise craftsmanship and specialised work in both design and refurbishment, is unparalleled. If you were to try and produce a set of binoculars from scratch today, you would be looking at a six-figure sum.

Manufacturers of this golden era include:- Carl Zeiss, EUG, Busch and Schneider, Nikko, Fuji and Ross.

A true collector's item.
